Back in 2010, I wanted to setup a no-fail campaign that will generate a lot of sales and profits.
I was already making some good money online by then but I wanted something bigger.
I already had a lot of ideas but I decided to get some advice.
The only person I had access to and could get a feedback from as at then was Akin Alabi and I sent him a message via his alabiforum which is no longer active.
The reply he gave me totally changed my thinking and I had to scrap my entire plan and rebuilt it from scratch.
To cut the long story short, I launched this new campaign via Google adwords and it was making as much as N25,000 profits every day it ran.
I was going through some of my old folders today and I stumbled on that advice.
So, I decided to publish it here so that you can also benefit from it.
The golden advice from Akin Alabi (Now Honourable) starts after the line below.
Watch out for the phrases I put in bold.
First of all, I must mention that I have mixed both online and offline techniques together because like I always say, if you want to make a lot of money, you have to combine both.
You see, as copywriters, we believe we can always dream up an idea and sell using the power of sales letters. Yes, we make money, but not as much as we should be making.
When I talk about getting the offer right, I mean before you even create any product not to even talk about writing the copy.
You should know that the offer will be a best seller before doing it.
Before you do anything, ask yourself this question?
What is that offer that people will go crazy over once you put it out?
Do not make a move until you’re 100% certain you’re on target. You can then come up with a Killer Copy that will sky rocket the response through the roof.
The product is already a seller before you write the copy.
There is desire and probably demand for it.
Your copy should channel the existing desire to your offer and not to create the desire.
Once I disciplined myself to always follow this, my earnings exploded beyond what I thought was possible.
Let me give you an example…
Can you remember very well when Solar Energy adverts first came out on Success Digest Extra?
Can you remember that the copy in those ads were terrible?
But guess what?
People were lining up to pay N15,000 for those seminars and I even heard people were sent back home.
Like I said above, I now concentrate more on my offers and I’m better for it. I’ve even started using Pen Names because I won’t want my name to be associated with some topics.
There you have it.
I hope you are able to get some insights from it that will help in your upcoming campaigns.
May God help us all.
